Worked in garden a little. At Chet’s an hour or two. Chet’s doing well at Colchester. Wind again towards evening but didn’t dare start out for station. Blowing quite hard over + looking as if it would continue. Saw Henry Cole a few minutes this eve for first time since he went to work at Schaefer’s.

Walked over to Geo Sumner’s a few minutes. He had to go for Dr. this mng. Wife worse today. Looks much worse tonight.

Eddie was gone to see grandma, sick at city, and stay one night. Charlie Hoffman’s father seemed near dying this a.m.. I have felt quite unwell all day and weak as a cat tonight. Pain in back and right side.

The Daisy with Asst. Inspector on board from Plattsburg and Chet from W. PT. arrived at the same time.

Everything in order and satisfactory.

Quite a stiff breeze flowing so I didn’t care to pull home and so Chet went ashore again to see his folks.

Monday August, 14

Chet came at 8 a.m. and I came ashore after we had breakfast. Sighted the Nettle off Appletree as I left and as I reached the pass, she reached the station. Wind had been W. but shifted to NE. when I reached the pass and made it hard pulling as water was pretty rough. Mrs. Cole gave me apples. Aunt Em gave me B. milk and I made 6 pies this P.M.

9 P.M. waiting for eclipse to commence at 9:39 only a partial.

Tuesday August 15 at home

A rainy day, tried to regulate things but one boil on back or shoulder and another where I can sit on it make life almost not worth living. Carried boat key to Frank Gilman and then called at Geo Sumner. Mrs. S is improving but looks very bad.  Gave Mrs. Freeman a treatment for rheumatism in hands. She said I was successful. Baked two Bread. First class.
