• Several 3rd and 5th grade students have helped us prepare the garden beds and have planted peas!
• Many classes have started growing the rest of the seeds and students will help to plant them towards the end of May.
• The beds will contain many vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, squash, potatoes, pumpkins, herbs and edible flowers.
• These vegetables and plants will be used both by individual classrooms and in the cafeteria.
• The Explorers team is making beautiful hand-painted signs for each garden bed.

 

GARDEN:

We will begin planting the garden beds the last week of April/first week of May.  At that time we will be planting potatoes and peas.  The rest of the planting will be done towards the end of May.  We have a few classes starting seeds for the garden in their classrooms and we have several classes lined up to help us do the planting.  Explorers is also going to make signs for each bed.  The beds will contain many vegetables including peas, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, squash, potatoes, pumpkins, herbs and edible flowers and will be used both by individual classrooms and the cafeteria.
