Learn More About the ELL Program

There are more than 20 English Language Learners (ELLs) receiving direct ESL services in grades Pre-K- 8th grade in Shelburne Community School and Charlotte Community School.

The English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher provides service and support to the ELL students as much as possible, but English Language Learners spend most of their school day in their classrooms. Teachers, with the assistance from the ESL teacher, adapt and accommodate class work so ELLs can access the grade level curriculum/content subject area in a meaningful way.
