The following are commonly used plug-ins used on this web page for special content including: streamed
video clips, audio, animations, and documents (such as PDF files).

Adobe Acrobat (version 7.0.7) free PDF reader
Flash (version 8) animation player

Java (version 5) required for most web sites to display advanced navigation features.

Quicktime video player ... this is now i-Tunes
Real Player BBC Version (version 8) an audio and video player (BBC Version has been changed to provide less potentially inappropriate material for children).
Shockwave (version 10) animation player

Audio editing programs (free downloads)

Audacity (version 1.2.3) an audio editing and recording program.  Includes the ability to edit MP3 files and record with a microphone voice narrations.  Students can only clip 10 seconds from a copyrighted work.  Mac or Windows.  MP3 Plug-in for Audacity is required to convert audio files to MP3 files.  First install Audacity then run this compressed program.
i-Tunes (version 6) convert songs from CD audio to MP3, 10 second clips can be legally saved using an audio editor (like Audacity).   Mac or Windows
