Sources of water
The main source of water is the hydro cycle. It is a continuing cycle of water that has all ready been used. Some other sources are icebergs glaciers and ice caps. Other sources are Rivers, Lakes, Wells and Streams. One of the world’s biggest sources of water is the ice cap and the ocean. The water from the ocean is not really drinkable because it is very salty. But the United States has plants where ocean water is converted to non-salt water and is drinkable.
Threats to water due to oil spills
Oil Spills are one of the biggest threats to the pureness of water and life in water. It is not a needed threat to water because if the tanker companies were more cautious than most of the big tanker spills would never happen. The tanker itself is not the threat to water and water life. It is the type of oil that spills out of it. The very poisonous kind of oil is called refined oil. The not so poisonous kind is called crude oil. They are both deadly to animal and fish life but the refined oil is much worse (Stille,16). But there are solutions to these problems.
Sources to protect water from oil spills
The solutions for oil spills are very basic and simple. But we never use them for good. Some solutions are natural and some are not. Humans cannot clean up all the remains of the oil spills so nature is the last resort to clean up the rest of the disaster. It is very sad that the mess we make we cannot completely clean it all up so we remain in need of mother nature to clean up all are own mess. That is very bad. All we have to do is make sure that the tanker companies hire good captains and check the weather before they go for a haul. They should also build much thicker hull so if somehow the tanker beached the hull would not be broken. That would be the biggest and easiest way to prevent any future oil spills. Oil spills are the worst way to kill animals and water life in or near oceans because oil spills are very bad and oil is very poisonous. The worst pollutant in the water is oil. Because it is refined straight from the earth and should not be used anywhere else except for being burned up by cars engines and other machines.
