Source of water
People around the world use rainwater for several different purposes. There are lots of cattle in Pakistan so the farmers depend on rainwater to keep their herds alive. People in Pakistan use water for their crops, drinking, and surviving in general. Because Pakistan is made of 75% desert, there is not a lot of water (Umrani, p. 1-3). Without rain as a source of water in Pakistan, there isn't enough vegetation for the people and their livestock to eat.
Threat to water
Droughts are periods of very dry weather when it does not rain enough to replenish the water supply. This is because there are not enough bodies of water near the drought stricken area. This makes it so there is not enough water to evaporate and be rained down from nearby bodies of water. lots of people, plants, and animals die from direct result of drought.

Solutions
Some solutions to drought are digging canals, building super-wells, or building man-made bodies of water (Missen, 1-4). By digging a canal you can get access to other bodies of water and drain some of the water to use for themselves. A super well is a very deep well that drains water from deep inside the earth. When you build a body of water it sometimes isn't successful because it dries up easily.
