Thursday, 7th  September 1899    B. Camp

8 P.M.  Have given my Journal quite a rest.

Quite a cool day.

Bertha and Mrtyle went to L.H. Sat eve., and wind has blown so since that they could not get away before to-day, but Cass and Lawrence went over and found Bertha sick so I am “in it” alone all this week. Cap and Chet and Butter will work until midnight, Cass is here.

Went over with teams and grub,

Looks like rain  Goodspeed come home with me.  Unloading coal 2 boat-loads will finish to-morrow .

 

Friday 8,

Cool and Pleasant

Cap and Chet on R.R.   Sent breakfasts. Cass mowed hunjarron A.M. to P.M.

Chet and Cass at Hines pulling lumber P.M. Button and I relief expedition to L.H.,

Nigger only at supper,  Barstow sold “Dewey” to Cap,

 

Friday 15th

Got ready to go to L.H. Wed but wind prevented until this noon, where I started with a boatload. Got there about 2 and left there at 3, P.M. got here at 5. wind blew from N.W. like the devil.

Cleaned out parlor bedroom yesterday, and party cleaned sitting noon this A.M.

Button baked my bread for me while I was away. It was a little slack baked, but guess it will be eaten,

Chet got his foot run over. Hurt his hand a few days ago and is getting knocked out all round. Quite a cool day.

Cass and Lawrence cut uncle Willard's corn yesterday.  Cass went up to Smalley’s last night.  Chet and Ruth came for him and are awful tired from rowing.

Sold Sid Simmons a bushel of potatoes            50 cents paid.

Sold Albert Crawford a bushel of potatoes       50 cents paid.

Sold Geo Sumner ˝ bushel of potatoes            25 cents paid.

Sold Sid Tatro a bushel of potatoes                  50 cents paid.

 

 Wed.  Sept 20

Butler went away.
