We drew my boat across late + put it in the lake, + left it with the L.H. boat at Cole’s landing. Went over to fix Chet’s pump. It seemed to be all right only pipe too short to rearch water. Raytee gave me sample of Liquazone. The war news today is that the Japs have nearly annihilated the big Russian fleet and taken lots of prisoners; among them vice admiral Rajestvensky the commander of the fleet.

Chetsie was much pleased with one and wanted me to pare it for him, and to sit on the floor with him. He isn’t afraid of me anymore. Read the news awhile and came home took supper at Franks. I hoed about half of my north lot of potatoes. Lots of foxtail and quite hard hoeing. Going to help Henry Cole tomorrow.
