If you need a place to stay, go to the Heart of the Village Inn. They have all the things you need. It's a beautiful bed and breakfast located in magnificent Shelburne, Vermont.

This house was built in 1886 by Cyrus Van Vliet and is 115 years old. Since it became an Inn a few years ago 5,000 people have stayed there.

The siding on this house is clapboard and the roof is gabled. The roof line is very interesting because so many of them. The building is very tall at four stories. It would be fun to see the attic. There is a nice porch and you can go there for tea some afternoons.

Call this house for a place to stay.
So open up, today's the day!!

Need a comfy place to stay? Come on down to the Harrington House which is now a bed and breakfast!

The Harrington House was built in 1800, named after Captain Benjamin Harrington, great grandfather of Peg, one of the two owners. Captain Harrington lived in Connecticut before he came to Vermont. It was a working farmhouse until the late 1940's. Many acres are still there from the 1940 farmhouse.

The house is the shape of an upper case "L". It has a deck that pokes out to the right hand side of the building. It is a frame building. It has an open porch. It has a plain roof and eaves. The window and door head is plain too! The basement is unexposed and the wall is flush board. Today, a room fit for you will come with a private bathroom, cable TV, air conditioning and a queen sized bed.

And just remember, when you need a comfy place to stay, you can always count on the Harrington House Bed and Breakfast!

Need a place to stay for the night? Welcome to the Shelburne Inn and Motel!

The Shelburne Inn and Motel was built in 1796 and is sadly going out of business. It is the oldest Inn in Shelburne. In 2,000, it was open during October and 40 rooms were sold out possibly the entire time.

The owner Mr. Smith says, "It's a beautiful building and it would be wonderful to see the 40 rooms revamped." He and his brother-in-law are talking about opening a restaurant on the site. Mr. Smith had his wedding day in 1971 at the Inn and he hopes someday it will be back to normal.

The Inn is a beautiful white building but the roof is coming out of shape.

I drive by it almost every day and I think it's sad to see it falling apart and closing!
