More About the ELL Program
There are more than 20 English Language Learners (ELLs) receiving
direct ESL services in grades Pre-K 8th grade in Shelburne Community School and
Charlotte Community School.
The English as a Second Language (ESL)
teacher provides service and support to the ELL students as much as possible,
but English Language Learners spend most of their school day in their
classrooms. Teachers, with the assistance from the ESL teacher, adapt and
accommodate class work so ELLs can access the grade level curriculum/content
subject area in a meaningful way.
