Reading Power books are divided into levels from J to Z. Our levels correspond to the levels used in guided reading, a method of teaching reading that the elementary teachers in the building know. Books at the Level J are easier than those at Level M, and so on. To determine which level books to start with, talk to the classroom teacher. Also look at the books in the Reading Power room and see what kinds of books your own child has read and is currently reading. Those will be a clue to the level to begin with.
